I enjoy both bands on this split so much. Lugubrum's unorthodox approach is like a deranged serial killer in his dirty lair planning for next torture session. And Urfaust is the act itself, the bloodred psychopathic moment of ritualistic ecstacy where time and sanity freezes and no trace of remembrance is to be found afterwards.
Some of the finest German Black Metal! There are some very novel ideas here & most of them work very well! Alexander von Meilenwald certanly knows how to have fun & play with music which, at the end of the day, is precisely its purpose according to me. It has a slightly more Gothic metal feel in general than his previous albums but it is still extremely interesting from start to finish!. Highly recommended! bmurator
The inverted riff of "Silhouettes of Death's Grace" could go on for eternity. But when "Mourning Beloveth" hits, it makes you go straight back through their catalog. The clean vocals make everything go away. The new album cannot come fast enough... bcb723
